How to make money online by flipping domain names?
Domain flipping can be a great way to make money online. Domain flipping is when you’re buying and selling domain names. You would buy a domain name, build backlinks to it and then sell it for profit.
Domain names are the building blocks of the internet. When you type in a website (like TheBlogPatch) into your browser, the domain name is what directs you to our site. Domain names cost money and they can be worth thousands or even millions of dollars!
Things to avoid when picking a domain name
Domain name flipping is a great way to make some money online. Flipping domain names is all about buying low and selling high. It’s not necessarily uncommon to sell a domain name for tens of thousands of dollars.
But before you think you’re going to start making a killing with domain flipping, it’s important to learn the tricks of the trade. If you aren’t careful, you could lose a lot of money on a bad investment. Here are some things to avoid when picking a domain name:
- Don’t choose a brandable domain name unless you can build out the corresponding website that goes along with it. A good brandable domain name will cost anywhere from $10-$50,000 depending on the level of competition that you’re up against. If you buy a brandable domain name and don’t build out the website that goes with it, then your $3,000 investment will be worth nothing at all!
- Don’t buy any generic domains that have already been used as an internet address. For example, don’t buy nikeinc.com because nikeinc.com already exists as an address for Nike Inc…
- Don’t buy any misspellings of popular websites or brands. For example, don’t buy pokemonpets.com
- Don’t buy expired domains — Expired domains are those that were renewed but are now available at auction due to non-payment or other reasons. Many domainers avoid these types of domains because they have no proven history of traffic and sales.
To start making money by flipping domain names, you must first know how to pick the right names.
If you are looking to make money online, you have to take the risk. Domain flipping is a great way of doing it. It is a risky business, but it can pay off big time.
The most important thing about domain flipping is picking the right domain name. If you pick the wrong name, you are just going to lose money.
There are a few things that you need to know when picking a domain name for flipping. You have to make sure it has short and memorable. The name also has to be unique and easy to spell.
You have got to remember that this is a business, and you will be making money out of it at some point in time. The main reason why someone would buy your domain name is the traffic it gets. Traffic means an advertisement, which means profits.
If you are able to find a good domain name that has been expired for more than 60 days and still ranks high in search engines, then there is no reason why people should not buy it from you. After all, there would be so many benefits of buying expired domains for sale as compared to new ones in terms of both traffic and profit generation potentials.
TIP: Don’t get bogged down with trying to find a single “perfect” domain name. If you see a good one, grab it! There are plenty of later opportunities to assess if a name is worth keeping or selling on.
Find the trending words of a certain niche
In this guide, you will find out step-by-step how to find the hottest, trending keywords of any niche. This will help you to find the right domain names to flip and how to sell them for more money.
Tutorial:
Step 1: The first thing you want to do is make a list of all the different words within your niche. For example, if I were selling skateboards online, my list might look like this:
skateboard, skateboard rack, longboard, shortboard, skateboard wheels, skateboard accessories, etc.
The key here is to use a keyword research tool like Google’s Keyword Planner. They’re free and extremely powerful. There are other ways to do it but I think this is the best way because it shows exactly what people are looking for on Google. For example, if I was going to sell snowboards online I would just swap out “skateboard” with “snowboard” in the above list. This would give me a list of every related term that has been searched for on Google in the last 12 months.
Once you’ve got a list of terms it’s time to dig deeper into each one and see which ones have the most searches per month. If you scroll down to the bottom of the Keyword Planner you can see how many average searches each of those keywords get per month.
Step 2: Look over your list of keywords and pick out the ones that have the most monthly search volume. This will help you determine how much it will cost for each keyword. Make sure to include relevant keywords that are highly searched in your niche. Examples would be: “buy cell phones” or “cheap laptops.”
